India Earnings - Strides Arcolab | Profit on Sheet

Strides Arcolab : A global pharmaceutical company, swung to profit on consolidated basis for the third quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose to Rs 1,054 million as compared to loss of Rs 90 million in the same quarter, previous year.

Consolidated total income for the quarter climbed 32% to Rs 2,818 million compared with the prior year period of Rs 2,142 million.

The company on a consolidated basis reported earnings of Rs 25.51 a share, during the September 2008 quarter as against a loss of Rs 2.83 a share during the prior year period.

Commenting on the company`s performance, Arun Kumar, group chief executive officer said, ``We are pleased to have achieved a growth of 32% in revenue and 128% of Operational EBITDA. This reflects our continued focus on execution excellence. We are delighted to see successful transition of our new organization design which was announced in March 2008 and successful integration of Ascent Pharmahealth. We are extremely excited about our future-ready initiatives which we have embarked as part of our Strategy to achieve scalability of our business model.``

India Earnings - Ispat Industries | History Continue

Ispat Industries : An integrated steel maker, swung to loss for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the company reported loss of Rs 267.40 million compared with a profit of Rs 135.40 million in the same quarter, last year.

Net sales for the quarter surged 59.12% to Rs 32,231.70 million, while total income for the quarter jumped 57.36% to Rs 32,237.80 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted loss of Rs 0.38 a share during the quarter compared with loss of Rs 0.05 a share in prior year period.

India Earnings - Parsvnath Developers | Negative Report Card

Parsvnath Developers : One of the leading real estate development companies in India, on a consolidated basis reported a 78.69% decline in net profit of Rs 219.06 million for the second quarter ended Sep. 30, 2008 as compared to Rs 1,027.73 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2007.

Total Income has decreased 45.15% from Rs 4,127.06 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2007 to Rs 2,263.58 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2008.

Standalone:

The company on a standalone basis, announced a substantial drop in net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 77.31% to Rs 228.59 million from Rs 1,007.38 million in the same quarter, previous year.

Net sales declined 45.39% to Rs 2,169 million, while total income for the quarter fell 45.60% to Rs 2,218.09 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted earnings of Rs 1.24 a share during the quarter, registering 77.25% decline over previous year period.

India Earnings - ONGC | Excessive subsidy burden depresses Financials

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) : Disclosed a marginal decline in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 5.67% to Rs 48,084.10 million from Rs 50,974.80 million in the same quarter previous year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 13.53% to Rs 174,996.20 million, while total income for the quarter rose 13.67% to Rs 188,966.30 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted earnings of Rs 22.48 a share during the quarter, registering 5.67% decline over prior year period.
 
During the quarter,Interest cost increased 3.20 times to Rs 974.40 million while depreciation cost rose 9.87% to Rs 21,832.10 million over previous year period.

ONGC is the only fully-integrated petroleum company in India operating along the entire hydrocarbon value chain. It has established 6 billion tons of in-place hydrocarbon reserves with more than 300 discoveries of oil and gas.

India Earnings - BEML rise in profit

BEML announced a phenomenal rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 2.28 times to Rs 555.10 million from Rs 243.20 million in the same quarter previous year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 29.19% to Rs 6,138.90 million, while total income for the quarter rose 30.42% to Rs 6,355.00 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted earnings of Rs 13.33 a share during the quarter, registering 2.24 times growth over prior year period.
 
During the quarter, Interest cost increased 34.19% to Rs 57.30 million while depreciation cost rose 68.36% to Rs 69.70 million over previous year period.

India Earnings - Jindal Steel & Power | Solid Profit like Bars

Jindal Steel & Power : A leading steel maker announced a phenomenal rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 62.18% to Rs 4,500 million from Rs 2,774.70 million in the same quarter previous year.

Net sales for the quarter jumped 74.63% to Rs 22,161.20 million, while total income for the quarter jumped 75.41% to Rs 22,310.80 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company reported earnings of Rs 29.09 a share during the quarter, registering 67.72% decline over previous year period.
 
During the quarter, the operating margin of the company dropped to 34.27% compared with the previous year period. Interest cost decreased 28.85% to Rs 562.80 million while depreciation cost fell 8.60% to Rs 1,076.90 million over previous year period.

India Earnings - Dabur India | Celebrating Profit

Dabur India : Dabur India, on consolidated basis, reported a rise in net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. The company posted marginal rise of 11.64% in net profit after minority interest of Rs 1078.20 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2008 as compared to Rs 965.70 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2007.

Total Income has increased 19.24% from Rs 5,917.70 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2007 to Rs 7,056.60 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2008.

On standalone basis, the company reported a good increase in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 24.65% to Rs 1,069.60 million from Rs 858.10 million in the same quarter previous year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 23.72% to Rs 5,877.60 million, while total income for the quarter rose 23.63% to Rs 5,941.20 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted earnings of Rs 1.24 a share during the quarter, registering 25.25% growth over previous year period.

India Earnings - Suzlon Energy profit plunges to 95.22%

Suzlon Energy : Suzlon Energy disclosed a substantial drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 95.22% to Rs 169.80 million from Rs 3,555.80 million in the same quarter previous year.
Net sales for the quarter rose 32.42% to Rs 22,344.70 million, while total income for the quarter rose 31.76% to Rs 22,646.60 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted earnings of Rs 0.11 a share during the quarter, registering 99.11% decline over previous year period.
 
During the quarter, Interest cost increased 2.72 times to Rs 766.90 million while depreciation cost rose 28.69% to Rs 244.90 million over previous year period.

In Sep. 30, 2008, the company has issued and allotted 1,301,000 equity shares of Rs 2 each at an exercise price of Rs 51 per equity share on July 5, 2008 in terms of employee stock option plan-2005.

India Earnings - Deccan Chronicle profit dips on rise of Raw Material

Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd ( DCHL) : Engaged in printing and publishing newspaper and periodicals announced a drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008, failing to meet analysts expectations. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 45.19% to Rs 452.70 million from Rs 826 million in the same quarter previous year. The analysts at Bloomberg had expected the earnings to stand at Rs 830 million for quarter ended September 2008.

Net sales for the quarter rose 20.59% to Rs 2,264.30 million over prior year period. The analysts had estimated the net sales to stand at Rs 2096.50 million.

Meanwhile, total income for the quarter rose 22.88% to Rs 2,418.90 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted earnings of Rs 1.85 a share during the quarter, registering 45.27% decline over prior year period. The analysts had expected the same to be at Rs 2.55 a share for quarter ended September 2008.

India Earnings - Bharti Airtel | Ringing Slowly on Earnings

Bharti Airtel : Consolidated Basis : Telecom company, Bharti Airtel, a part of Bharti Enterprises on consolidated basis announced a rise of 1.48 % in the net profit which stood at Rs 16,681.30 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2008. The same for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2007 stood at Rs 16,437.60 million. Total Income increased 40.18% from Rs 63867.30 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2007 to Rs 89527.30 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2008.

Standalone Basis : The group reported a decline in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 0.89% to Rs 16,047.80 million from Rs 16,191.50 million in the same quarter previous year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 36.54% to Rs 82,743.70 million, while total income for the quarter rose 35.70% to Rs 83,028 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company reported earnings of Rs 8.46 a share during the quarter, registering 0.82% decline over previous year period.

India Earnings - India Cements on way to South on Earnings

India Cements : India renowned cement manufacture disclosed a steep drop in its standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 39.69% to Rs 1,342.70 million from Rs 2,226.50 million in the same quarter, previous year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 23.18% to Rs 10,965.70 million, while total income for the quarter rose 22.37% to Rs 10,965.90 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company reported earnings of Rs 4.77 a share during the quarter, registering 44.21% decline over previous year period.

India Earnings - MMTC Glittering like Gold

MMTC : Disclosed a 24.97% rise in its standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose to Rs 467.80 million from Rs 374.30 million in the same quarter, last year.

Net sales for the quarter jumped 2.10 times to Rs 124,891 million, while total income for the quarter jumped 2.10 times to Rs 124,972.30 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company reported earnings of Rs 9.36 a share during the quarter, registering 25.13% growth over previous year period.

India Earnings - Essar Oil back in Action

Essar Oil : An integrated oil and gas company, swung to profit for the quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the company reported profit of Rs 260 million compared with a loss of Rs 140.90 million in the same quarter, last year.

Net sales for the quarter surged 77.67 times to Rs 137,170 million, while total income for the quarter jumped 76.23 times to Rs 137,400 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted earnings of Rs 0.22 a share for the quarter ended September 2008.

India Earnings - Nestle India posted a sweet result

Nestle India : One of the leading multinational companies in the FMCG space in India, reported a steady growth in its standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008, failing to meet the analyst expectations. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 13.53% to Rs 1,317.60 million from Rs 1,160.60 million in the same quarter, previous year.

The analysts at Bloomberg had expected the profit to be at Rs 1,433.25 million for quarter ended September 2008.

Net sales for the quarter rose 22.46% to Rs 11,103.70 million against analysts expectation of Rs 10,998 million, while total income for the quarter rose 22.29% to Rs 11,157.90 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted earnings of Rs 13.67 a share during the quarter, registering 13.54% growth over prior year period. The analysts had expected the earnings to be at Rs 14.54 a share for quarter ended September 2008.
 
The board of directors of Nestle India approved dividends aggregating Rs 22 for each equity share, to be paid of Nov. 26, 2008. This would comprise the second interim dividend of Rs 14.50 for each equity share declared on Oct. 31, 2008 and the special dividend of Rs 7.50 for each equity share.

India Earnings - UCO Bank, trader fav post a fav result

UCO Bank : Reported a substantial rise in its standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008.

During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 35.79% to Rs 1,500.90 million from Rs 1,105.30 million in the same quarter, last year.

Interest earned for the quarter rose 26.10% to Rs 19,937.30 million, while total income for the quarter rose 26.17% to Rs 21,879.80 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company posted earnings of Rs 1.88 a share during the quarter, registering 36.23% growth over previous year period.

India Earnings - PNB profit surged by 31.31%

Punjab National Bank (PNB) : Announced a substantial rise in its standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2008, beating the analysts forecasts. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 31.31% to Rs 7,070.90 million from Rs 5,384.80 million in the same quarter, previous year. The analysts at Bloomberg had estimated the profit to be at Rs 5,041 million for quarter ended September 2008.

Interest income for the quarter rose 34.29% to Rs 46,504 million against analysts expectation of Rs 18,878 million, while total income for the quarter rose 35.16% to Rs 53,131.80 million, when compared with the prior year period.

During the quarter, the company reported earnings of Rs 22.43 a share, registering a growth of 31.23% over the prior year period. The analysts had expected the earnings to be at Rs 15.84 a share for quarter ended September 2008

India Earnings - Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL)

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) : HPCL today announced its Sept'08 qtr result , it was reported a net loss in compared from previous year. 

During the quarter, the company reported loss of Rs 32,189.20 million compared with a profit of Rs 8,530.30 million in the same quarter, last year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 46.58% to Rs 355,220.60 million from Rs. 242,344.40 million, while total income for the quarter climbed 45.30% to Rs 356,198.70 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company reported loss of Rs 94.95 a share during the quarter compared with earnings of Rs 25.17 a share in previous year period. 

India Earnings - Power Grid jump of 6.79% in profit


Power Grid : Power Grid Corporation Of India announced a small rise in its standalone net profit for the second quarter ended September 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 6.79% to Rs 3,964.30 million from Rs 3,712.20 million in the same quarter, previous year.

Net sales for the quarter jumped 53.49% to Rs 15,876.90 million from Rs. 10,343.60 million, while total income for the quarter rose 50.98% to Rs 16,729.70 million, when compared with the prior year period.

The company reported earnings of Rs 0.94 a share during the September 2008 quarter.
 
During the quarter, interest cost increased 2.69 times to Rs 7,024.00 million while depreciation cost rose 19.51% to Rs 2,744.50 million over previous year period.
